Cherry Tree Woods, East Finchley, N2

Originally I had wanted to write something about the cafes in local parks and carry out my own Latte Days assessment. As I have been around the block a few times...

Today I walked to Cherry Tree Woods, East Finchley. I decided to take my neice and nephew and give their mum (my sis) a bit of she-time.

A 3 mile (circuit) pushing a pram, its contents, and wearing MBTs - was a bit of hard work. AJ (my neice) had an orange juice with a matching straw, N (my nephew) had mashed banana which ended up all over him and in my hair. I don't know how people master all of this juggling. His bottle of milk managed to leak all over the place but did he complain...no... he was delighted that he was spending quality time with me, of course.

So the three of us watched some boys play football and strangely enough, from I don't know where, I managed to tell N and A all the rules of playing off side, inside and outside. Premier leagues, not so premier leagues, the colours of football strips and why no one ever wears sparkles and sequins when they play.

As for the coffee, it was ok but nothing to get too excited about. Filter stuff.

Cherry Tree Woods is nice - but small.

I did have a cycling lesson there once, for on road cyclists (which was a bit strange as we were in the park), with a very tall man whilst he was eating a ham sandwich.

That's a story for another time...

I'm having trouble with my pop-ups.

Anyway, how about trying that little cafe in the park where the Bothy is?

I bet it would be nice to have something hot in the Bothy.

So you're having trouble with your pop up Mr G?

Hmmm it might be a cookie thing going on so you might want try deleting them - alternatively you might need to change the pop up settings, if you can.

As for the Bothy yes I have been there a couple of times and have had a filter coffee for something like 45p...actually it was hot and I watched the Bothy's gardener do his chores - now there's a novel to be written.
