I've been tasked with researching a number of writing competitions for my creative writing group. I must confess that I am thoroughly enjoying it. Last week, we had to write a dialogue as the characters of these two folk who got married in real life and in second life. It was in the press. Personally I rather written a piece on good ol Johnny and his two left feet. Turns out the characters were really sad f****kers. However, G and I wrote a piece which received a raptuous applause. It contained many expletives.
Since joining the class I have now written three short pieces which have amused many and in some instances surprised others.
More writing classes next week. Do I need to mention coffee? No!

- So like a lot of people due to funding cuts etc etc I find myself at 42 on the scrap heap. 16 years of experience working in further education....and tbh it wasn't a career choice that I planned after University. I just landed a job and continued to work in the sector going from project to project. Not very exciting you might think and many times I thought the same. So for one reason or another I find myself looking for that job that will excite, entice and appreciate my knowledge and skills. You'd think it was a no brainer but interviews are getting tougher and tougher and no candidate is left unscathed by the process, I'm going to ue this blog to feedback and reflect on each of my interviews and maybe I will learn something on the way on how to clinch that job.
