I haven't mentioned him for some time but recently we've been doing some work together...so his coffee making skills are becoming even more delectable. Today, he made me a delicious fresh ground Brazilian (Rio Valleys) roast, and served it in a cup with a saucer (avec spoon). I said 'why thank you Mr Maryloooo'....'but where are the biscuits?'.
A second later, like a flash, he served me pistachio biscotties (hand made).
Everyone in the orifice was quite green with envy, so I had to explain how this bond had occurred. I asked him, in those heady early days, whether he had had his 'colours done' and ever since he's been my ally.
If only real life was so straight forward.

- So like a lot of people due to funding cuts etc etc I find myself at 42 on the scrap heap. 16 years of experience working in further education....and tbh it wasn't a career choice that I planned after University. I just landed a job and continued to work in the sector going from project to project. Not very exciting you might think and many times I thought the same. So for one reason or another I find myself looking for that job that will excite, entice and appreciate my knowledge and skills. You'd think it was a no brainer but interviews are getting tougher and tougher and no candidate is left unscathed by the process, I'm going to ue this blog to feedback and reflect on each of my interviews and maybe I will learn something on the way on how to clinch that job.
