Brighton Festival

Yes it's another year of this fabulous Festival that I have been going to for the last, well however many years its been going on really.

This weekend it's open house where you can walk into others homes and 'oooh' and 'aaah' over pieces of artwork which vary from rather good or rather crap.

The more interesting bit can be just nosing around others people's abodes and I must confess there is a very bo-ho look going on with damp ceilings to boot and lots of incense burning to mask the smell. So that's shabby chic, I guess. I saw a lot of phallic stuff too; ceramic pots with nipples as handles, vases that didn't leave much to the imagination, and portraits of men in more than just an embrace.

It's Brighton after all.

I seemed to end up at the same houses as an extraordinarily tall male couple and their bitch butch bull terrier. They had really good tans and wore trendy glasses. The dog wore diamante.

This just doesn't happen in the Ville De Finche.

I'm very jealous - I've been wanting to go down there for years! Did you by any chance go to the Biscuit Studios in Hove? (they don't make biscuits, sadly)

Did you buy anything?

Yes and yes.

I did go to the Biscuit Studios and that is where the adventure began!! Nipples and dimanted dogs.

I did buy something too and when I got home I realised that what I thought was a photo of a very large, red flower dotted with raindrops, was in fact meant to symbolise a very large scrotum

It has now taken centre stage on my wall and is rather well hung, I am pleased to add.
