A Saturday evening and I end up at the Curzon Soho, in London. I could be in any European city. It's frenetic, in a nice way. Sometimes the 'burbs make me feel like I'm treading water. Yet, 6 miles away there is this hub of activity, next door to Compton Street where one can observe the social interactions and predilictions for being so well robed. I note that tweed-like caps are very vogue among male folk.
I order my usual from the cafe situated on the ground level. I tell the barista a 'knock-knock' joke, just to cheer up Mr Dark Cloud. It doesn't work. I do try and bring cheer to those around me but sometimes my efforts are in vain. Actually that happens a lot. I won't bother in future. Just nod empathically at the appropriate moments.
The latte was quite delicious. Note to self, they serve them in espresso cups - but as it was evening and a very good roast I certainly didn't need a mug full. It was smooth...and kept me awake throughout the film...or was that due to the generous souls sitting behind us who were rustling their bloody Butterkist pop corn.
Thank goodness for the sub titles.

yeah but what film did you see?
Climates. A Turkish film. A beautiful film. Worth seeing if you like that kinda cinematography. Not much dialogue though and a lot of moody faces. But I liked it.
worth noting that the curzon soho serves cakes made by konditor and cook who are simply the best cake makers in the world ever (well, london). It's worth going just for that.
