I noted that the lease for Pizzico was up for sale and wondered whether anyone would buy it. I had been to Pizzico once and wasn't too impressed by its lack of produce and customer service. I had bought some olives - the deli style ones that are usually displayed in a plastic container, behind a glass counter. I won't go into the detail but I could've bought the same at Tesco for a third of the price. So I was happy to see that Pizzico now has new owners. I walked in and chatted to the owner, Pedro. (well I don't know whether that's his name, but let's assume that it is). P has changed a few things. He has gone for a Brazilian theme - there are quite a few beauticians in Finch de Centre, so there may be some stiff competition.
He showed me his lentil soup and all the vegetarian options that were available and, I agreed, that they looked good. It was lunctime, after all. I settled for the obligatory cafe latte and was delighted to see that a Fair Trade Italian Roast was available.
Cost : £1.70
Froth: Not much
Temperature: Feeling hot, hot, hot
Taste: Very roasted
Stayability: He wanted me to - but I would've been the only customer in the village.
I suggested he target the offices opposite - as am sure they would be delighted to know they could get a hot meal across the road.
Opening hours : Monday - Friday 8am-5pm. Will open on Sundays if there's a demand.

Well Reens, you've been for lunchtime Brazilian. But how did you emerge? Was the froth smooooth?
I used to go there about 15 years ago and they made their own lovely pasta and had those big colourful boxes of panettone. Lovely. Any sign of homemade pasta? I see there's a new Thai deli opened a bit further up the road.
Maybe...but not sure if pasta is part of a brazilian diet. I can't recall seeing any as I was focussing on the coffee and the proprietor's shiny crowns.
