Din Cafe, Temple Fortune, NW11

I have lived in the area for nearly 6 years and have passed it on my way to work in the early hours only to find it buzzing with customers. Now that I have a bit of time on my hands, I needed to find out what The Din is all about....

I was impressed. I ended up having a deliciously smooth latte. The only drawback was that I was surrounded by middle aged women who lunch - just after being coiffured - and I enjoyed eavesdropping on their conversation. There was quite a bit of the usual 'one up (wo)man ship', but not about the children or grandchildren but about mobile phone and land line networks. I really wanted to tell them to have a look at www.themoneysavingexpert.com for impartial advice...but they could've thought I was being nosey - but then again they were hardly being discreet. One of them uses BT and the other uses NTL. Have they ever used skype, I thought?

Latte (4): As mentioned it was smooth, good temperature, good colour and consistency

Ambience (4): If you like that kinda thing...it was pleasant enough. If you sit outside you're sitting on the street and you can watch the 4x4s drive by and pollute the atmosphere and my latte.

Accessibility (4): Very accessible.

Laptop friendly (1): Didn't bother to find out...why would I schlep my laptop out with me...?

Stayability (2): There is a lot of hover action. As soon as you finish the last gulp, the waiters take note and arrive with the bill. Nonetheless, they serve you very quickly - which for someone 'on the go' like me, is a sure plus.

With regards your endorsement of a certain financial advice website, I think in the interests of fairness and balance it is important to stress that other sources of money advice are available, and may well be better.
