Barista is situated in the heart of the 'hustle and bustle' of Finchley Central. It has a selection of cakes and pastries and more robust meals, like salads etc. You can buy paintings by local artistes. On display was a series of seasonal paintings...titled 'Winter'. I personally think that you can walk outside to appreciate the seasons rather than buy a painting - but that's my view anyway.
Cafe Latte (3): I got a take away CL (£1.60). It wasn't upto much. It wasn't very strong. It reminded a bit of a very successful coffee chain's which is more milk than coffee.
Ambience (3): It wasn't very busy but considering it was 945, at the time of my purchase, I guess that's probably why. There is a smoking and non smoking section which will cease by next Summer. There is some outdoor space which spills over into the bus stop. So, if you're waiting for a bus. This is the place to stop.
Buggy friendly (3): Accessible but there are the smokers to think about....
Footnote: It's near the station so if you're desperate for a caffeine injection then this is probably the nearest place to find. I am sure they would make the coffee stronger if you insisted.

I am currently in America-land and over here the coffee sucks. Can't wait to get back and try some of your local chain free recommendations. Keep up the good work.
